We all got started on Thursday night and caravan'd up to Minnesota withDirk Tiedeand his friend Dan to Minnesota. I want to formally thank Kim's parents for their wonderful impromptu bed and breakfast. Nothing better to wake up to than fresh baked muffins in the morning.
Our newest studio member, Eli, had to sit this one out on Grandma's lap, while we headed off to the convention Friday morning. First order of business? Why! Visit the Ikea store across the store! And ya know...their Swedish meatballs didn't disappoint. Oh, and I got a Spoka!
We met the TalismenpairBarb Jacobs and Steven Jones, in the dealer's room. Dirk also had a booth. Later that day, Pete whipped out some cosplay. Mmm...dragon....playing Trogdor...on Guitar Hero II. Good times. <3
On Saturday, we got together to have dinner at Khan's (yes, say it now, KKHHHHHHAAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!! *ahem*) Great food, good company. Meredith joined us with her friend Marie, and Caitlyn and Kathy too.
Saturday night was also the art jam, and, man!, it was full. We had to dissect an adjoining room of itss chairs and table to seat everyone, and it was full all night long. It's always great to talk to other artists and see what they're drawing.
Lor and I played some bizarre fighters in the videogame room. Sega Saturn ftw!! They even had a Neo Geo there. <3<3 And bonus points to Anime Detour for splitting up the console gaming from the music gaming again.
Sunday was a chance to watch some anime, wind down, and, oh, wander through the Mall of America (XD) Ofcourse we hadhadhadhad to visit the Apple store. Yeah....gonna go poke at Pete's Manga Studio program he bought. Might have to go buy my own. XD
And lastly the six hour drive back was filled with alphabetical lists of various comic books, anime and videogames. Too prove how geeky Lor, Stacie, Pete and I truely are, I'll post up our lists.
It's good to be home....but damn, I can't wait for our next convention. :X
