New look, same on-perminant-hiatus comic

Hello,

This is Death & Transfiguration, a grand intricate space opera comic that sadly didn't manage to get through its first issue.

It's not an uncommon story. A group of geeky, creative friends comes up with an idea, a project that they are woefully unprepared for. But not knowing this, or not knowing just how lacking their skills are, they throw themselves into it, and, through shear excitement (and stubbornness) they make a go of it, for a time at least.

At the beginning of DnT, Maciek had never taken a formal art course, had barely even done much drawing. Ray had just tinkered around with rendering programs and I hadn't written anything beyond fanfiction. We learned a lot that year we worked on DnT. And one of those lessons was that we weren't ready for DnT.

We're still not ready for it. And it makes us sad to acknowledge that. To do a full color comic on such a long storyline would require several members of our group to make Dent our only side project. By this point, we've all become involved in different, smaller and more manageable, comic projects, which (especially after Dent) we're loath to abandon or put on hold.

Would we like to restart DnT - very much yes.

Will we restart DnT - honestly, we don't know.

If we do restart DnT will we let people know - absolutely, and it will be planned out and executed in such a way that we would finish it (or at least get enough chapters out to see if we could garner a audience).

But in the meantime, this is what there is. This is the project that made me into a serious writer and set Maciek down the path to pursue a career in illustration. This is the beginning of Studio Anti Thesis that grew into a group of dedicated comickers who make five different comics, sell them at conventions, and produce additional art on the side. This is what sparked a serious effort to make art, make friends, and make a focus to our lives.

Take a look. Make your own judgment. Have a nice day.
