I was watching the Incredibles deleted scenes commentary and Bird was mentioning how a dream sequence is always the first idea for in inner dialog scene and that he then tries to come up with a better one.

Of course the script for the issue was done over a year ago, so there was no way I was changing stuff.

Never-the-less, I think a dream sequence really fits here. Partially it's just the whole "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" idea, partially it's a neat way to get into Owen's thoughts. I also think we intergrated it nicely into the story.
