In 2004 Studio AntiThesis met a major goal for their convention season, to aid reknown artist and author Lea Hernandez(Rumble Girls, Girlamatic.com) in the purchase of a plane ticket to join us at the 2004 Anime Iowa Convention.
AI has long been one of Lea's favorite conventions to attend, and when our Studio learned that she hadn't been invited officially, but still wanted to come, we sprang into action with only two weeks until the convention. What she needed was money for a ticket, what we had was the ability to open ourselves up to be commissioned for our artwork.
With the help of our patrons, we were able to raise $165 in comissioned works. Those funds, along with some attentional funds donated directly to Lea, and a last minute drop in airfare prices enabled us to meet our goal,
We thought you would also be interested in seeing the commissions produced for this fund raiser.
Allie made Wedding Chibis for our friend's Ace and Jess.

Then she made a Bishonen from Escaflowne for Daphne.(secret request from Daphne's hubby)

Lor(who made the 2nd cover for our Antithezine), combined two guilty gear characters for his commission.

Maciek had a very special commisson from a DnT fan.

Stacie made a portrait for Frank, to send to Valerie, based off photo references and a few questions on the lady's favorite colors, flowers.

Then Stacie made a picture for baby Evan's room.

Studio Anti Thesis would like to thank again everyone who was involved, those who were willing to commission us, the artists who were willing to participate en masse for this goal, and Lea Hernandez for being willing to take a chance on jumping on a plane to hang out with a midwestern studio full of people she'd never met. Everyone rose to the challenge, and that surpassed our expectations just as much as the amazing convention experience we had.
Here are some of our pictures of the convention, as well.
